Father's Day 2026

This powerful teaching confronts us with a fundamental truth that shapes everything in our lives: our identity must be rooted in Christ alone, not in our accomplishments, failures, or what the world tells us. Drawing from the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15, we see a vivid picture of how our Heavenly Father waits for us with open arms, ready to restore our identity the moment we turn toward home. The son believed he would return as a servant, diminished and unworthy, but the father immediately clothed him in robes of honor and celebrated his return. This is precisely how God responds to us when we come to Him. The teaching challenges us to examine what foundation we are building our lives upon, referencing Matthew 7 and the wise builder who constructs on solid rock versus the foolish one who builds on sand. When storms inevitably come, whether financial hardship, relationship struggles, or personal crises, our foundation will be revealed. If our identity rests on anything other than being sons and daughters of God, everything will crumble. We are reminded that we are not defined by our jobs, bank accounts, past mistakes, addictions, or what others say about us. Instead, we are fearfully and wonderfully made, deeply loved, forgiven, alive in Christ, and called to be world changers. This truth transforms how we live, love, and lead in every area of life.
