Good Friday '26

This powerful reflection takes us on a journey from being lost to being found, using a compelling story of wandering off on a mountain trail to illustrate our spiritual condition. The central message revolves around Jesus as the ultimate Passover Lamb, connecting the dots between the Old Testament sacrificial system and Christ's death on the cross. We discover that just as the Israelites needed the blood of a lamb on their doorposts to escape the death angel in Exodus, we need the blood of Jesus to cover our rebellion against God. The sermon walks us through the intentionality of God's rescue mission, showing how Jesus entered Jerusalem on the same day the priests were selecting the perfect lamb for sacrifice. This is no coincidence. Jesus was that perfect, unblemished sacrifice. The tearing of the temple veil from top to bottom when Jesus declared 'It is finished' symbolizes the restored access we now have to God. We no longer need a priest to mediate for us because the barrier of sin has been removed. The invitation is clear: acknowledge our rebellion, confess Jesus as Lord, and step into the freedom He purchased for us on the cross. This isn't just historical information; it's a present-day rescue operation for anyone willing to say yes to the One who loves us enough to die for us.
