Armor Up Series: Week 4 'The Shield of Faith'
What does it look like to carry a shield into the battles of everyday life? This message takes us deep into the armor of God, specifically the shield of faith described in Ephesians 6:16, and challenges us to think about faith not as a passive belief but as an active, living defense against the very real spiritual battles we face. We explore how the enemy works through accusation, deception, temptation, and doubt, and how a faith rooted in the unchanging character of God and saturated in Scripture can extinguish those attacks before they take hold. Drawing on the image of Roman soldiers soaking their massive leather-covered shields in water so that flaming arrows would be snuffed out on impact, we are reminded that the more we immerse ourselves in God's word, the more equipped we are to face whatever comes our way. The message is clear and urgent: our battles may look physical, but they are spiritual at their core, and the shield of faith is the mobile, all-covering protection God has already provided for us.
