Daily Encouragement - Day #16

 Not My Will, But Yours 

In the garden, Jesus prayed with deep anguish: “Not my will, but Yours be done.” This is one of the most powerful prayers of surrender. 

Prayer is not always about getting our way. Sometimes prayer is where our will is submitted to the Father’s will. It is where we are strengthened to obey, even when obedience is costly. 

Jesus prayed with tears. He prayed honestly. He did not hide His agony. Yet He surrendered fully to the Father. 

This teaches us that surrender is not weakness. Surrender is trust. 

Maybe today you are facing something difficult. Maybe you are asking God to remove something, change something, or rescue you from something. Bring that request honestly. But also ask for the grace to say, “Your will be done.” 

God hears reverent, surrendered prayer. 

Today’s Prayer:   

Father, I surrender my will to Yours. Strengthen me to obey You even when it is hard. Help me trust Your plan, Your timing, and Your goodness. Not my will, but Yours be done. Amen.
