Daily Encouragement - Day #10

Aug 11, 2026    Doug Walls

Give Thanks

Today we pause to give thanks.

Prayer is not only asking. It is also remembering. It is recognizing the goodness of God and responding with gratitude. Psalm 118 declares, “You are my God, and I will give thanks.” Psalm 116 asks, “What shall I return to the Lord for all His goodness to me?”

Gratitude changes our perspective. It reminds us that even while we are waiting for some answers, we are already surrounded by evidence of God’s faithfulness.

During this fast, take time to list what God has done. Thank Him for salvation. Thank Him for provision. Thank Him for strength. Thank Him for the doors He opened and the ones He closed. Thank Him for mercy you did not deserve and grace you could not earn.

A thankful heart is a strengthened heart.

Today’s Prayer:

Lord, thank You for Your goodness to me. Thank You for salvation, mercy, provision, and faithfulness. Help me live with a grateful heart and honor You with my life. Amen.

Scripture Focus: Psalm 118:28; Psalm 116:12-14
