Daily Encouragement - Day #13
Teach Us to Pray
Jesus teaches us that prayer is not about impressing people. It is about intimacy with the Father.
In Matthew 6, Jesus gives a pattern for prayer: worship, surrender, daily dependence, forgiveness, guidance, and deliverance. This reminds us that prayer is both simple and powerful.
We begin with God’s name being honored. We surrender to His kingdom and His will. We ask for daily bread. We receive forgiveness and extend forgiveness. We ask for protection from temptation and evil.
In Mark 8, Jesus also shows compassion for people’s practical needs. He feeds the hungry. He thanks God, breaks what is available, and multiplies it.
Today, bring God what you have. Your small strength. Your limited resources. Your tired prayers. In the hands of Jesus, what seems insufficient can become more than enough.
Today’s Prayer:
Father, teach me to pray. Let Your name be honored in my life. Let Your will be done. Provide what I need today, forgive me, help me forgive others, and lead me in Your way. Amen.
